Fujimoto Tatsuki’s “Chain saw man” to receive an anime adaptation courtesy of MAPPA

Fujimoto Tatsuki’s popular manga “Chainsaw Man” which is serialized in “Weekly Shonen Jump” and has a cumulative circulation of over 5 million (including electronic versions) will receive an anime adaptation produced by MAPPA.

MAPPA is known for the anime production for “Kids on the Slope”,  “Zombie Land Saga”, “Yuri!!! on ICE”, “”GARO – VANISHING LINE-“, “Shingeki no Kyojin – The Final Season”.

“Chain saw man” is a series set around Denji, a depressed man who is attempting to pay his deceased father’s debt to the yakuza by selling several of his organs and working as a devil hunter. He owns a dog called Pochita, who is actually a devil that resembles a chainsaw and helps Denji hunt devils.  But on a mission to hunt a devil given to him by a yakuza, is a plot made by the yakuza to kill him.

Denji and Pochita are severely injured but both made a pact in which they would become one and become a human-devil hybrid.

He is soon approached by a government group of devil hunters to join their organization.
