Johnny’s Jimusho announces an age limit system of age of 22 effective on March 31, 2023

In a major decision by the male idol entertainment company, Johnny’s Jimusho announced on January 16th that they will be introducing an age limit system at the age of 22 effective on March 31, 2023.

This is the first time in the company’s history of introducing an age limit.

Johnny’s statement is that “In order to actually grasp the changing times and social conditions, and to secure and respect the diverse futures of Johnny’s Jr., who were enrolled, Johnny’s Jr. will take care of the precious time of the young people who will lead the next generation.  We have been studying the ideal way of doing things.  At our company, we will return to the basic premise that Johnny’s Jr. activities aim to debut as an idol talent, and at the same time, from the perspective of ensuring appropriate personal career decisions, this time.  We have decided to set a certain age limit for Johnny’s Jr. activities”.

As for those who are older than age 22, Johnny’s Jr. will continue with established groups and individuals who are aged 22 and older.  But for those who are age 20, Johnny’s Jr. will discuss with them of their new system.
