Actor Iseya Yusuke was sentenced to one year in prison suspended for three years back in December for cannabis possession.
Most recently he was interviewed by Weekly Bunshun CINEMA! and Iseya talked about his arrest, being incarcerated for 20 days and his thoughts on his acting career.
Iseya said that after he went out skateboarding and when he got home, ten people were waiting outside of his home and realized they were police. When they asked him if he was Iseya Yusuke, he knew immediately that he did something that was illegal and was prepared to say “The day has come”.
When incarcerated, Iseya felt that the possibilities of his life were disappearing in the 20 days he was detained. So, during his time, he wrote to the people he had inconvenienced. And also knew that there were works being released, whether his role or scenes would be cut.

Actor Iseya Yusuke is known for his roles in films such as “Shinjuku Swan”, “Fly Me to the Saitama”, “Detective Novice”, “Tomorrow’s Joe”, has been arrested for suspicion of violating the Cannabis Control Law.
About 20.3 grams of dried cannabis was subdivided into four bags and hidden in his living room desk at his home. The marijuana going price for what was found is over 100,000 yen.
According to an investigations expert, if not for personal use but for sale, he will be treated as a “dealer” and there will be no suspended sentence and even for a first offense, he will be sentenced to prison.
Iseya was appearing in the drama “Miman Keisatsu – Midnight Runner” on NTV as an instructor for the Metropolitan Police Department.
Kansai is the half brother of fashion designer Yamamoto Kansai who passed away back in July and the cousin of actress Yamamoto Mirai.
