The third state of emergency has rocked the entertainment industry once again

As cases of the novel coronavirus surge in Japan and with the Tokyo Olympics/Paralympics months away, the government had to issue a state of emergency for Tokyo, as well as Osaka, Kyoto and Hyogo prefectures.

Events and performances have been canceled, as well as movie theaters.

The Takarazuka Revue decided to cancel their performance from April 26th through May 11th.

The Shiki Theater Company has decided to cancel performances in Tokyo, Osaka and Kyoto from the 28th through May 11th.

Toho announced that performances will be canceled from April 28th through the 11th.

The AKB48 Theater in Akihabara will be closed, as well as the music event “ARABAKI ROCK FEST” scheduled from April 30th through May 2nd in Kawasaki, Miyagi.

TOHO Cinemas, Aeon Cinema,109 Cinemas have also announced of closures.

It’s no doubt a big blow to the entertainment industry during the Golden Week Holidays.
