Kondo Masahiko has left Johnny’s on April 30th after 44-years with the company

After 44 years with Johnny’s, longtime veteran Kondo Masahiko (56) has left the company.  According to Johnny’s, Kondo has decided to go towards the path of performing arts and racing.

According to news reports, Kondo will belong to MK Company, which is mainly composed of the racing team KONDO Racing, which he is a representative and a director.

MK Company released a statement that “Kondo will work as a talent at our company after leaving Johnny’s Jimusho gracefully.  We will support Kondo’s activities.  Our company will also serve as the contact point for entertainment activities in the future.  Since we are a race team-based company, we will prepare for entertainment activities in the future and if there is something we can report on, we will tell you”.

Kondo Masahiko celebrated his 40th anniversary in 2020 and he has topped the charts of male idols in the ’80s and won the Nihon Taisho Award in 1987 for his song “Orukamono” and has had success as a racing team manager.

As the oldest talent of Johnny’s Jimusho, he is respected by his juniors and his known as “Matsu-san” and has been married since 1994 and is the father to one child.

Unfortunately, Kondo was caught by a tabloid of having an affair with a woman.

In October 2020, photos were taken of Kondo and a woman golfing in Okinawa Prefecture with a president of a company listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, a chairman of another large company and two women in their 20s.

And following the two, as they visited a hotel together and the photos were featured on Bunshun. The woman is reportedly a young president of a company who runs a custom suit company and the two met at a dinner five years ago.
