Fukada Kyoko suspends all entertainment activities due to Adjustment Disorder

Horipro has announced on May 26th that actress Fukada Kyoko will be suspending all entertainment activities.

The statement is as follows:

Our actress, Fukada Kyoko, has been feeling sick since last spring and was diagnosed with “adjustment disorder” by a doctor earlier this month. As a result, we will give priority to treatment for the time being and will take a break from work. Along with this, we have decided to drop the scheduled Fuji TV drama series for the July period. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused to all concerned parties, and we would like to support Fukada Kyoko  as much as possible.

An adjustment disorder is an emotional or behavioral reaction to a stressful event or change in a person’s life. The reaction is considered an unhealthy or excessive response to the event or change within three months of it happening.
