Ayase Haruka tested positive for COVID-19 and was hospitalized for symptoms of pneumonia

Actress Ayase Haruka (36) tested positive for the novel coronavirus and was admitted to a university hospital in Tokyo.

The onset occurred in mid-August and she had symptoms of pneumonia, so she was urgently taken to the hospital. Her symptoms were moderate and media reports is that she was hospitalized around August 20th.

Reports say that she was experiencing shortness of breath and there were white showing on x-rays in her lungs.

Ayase is set to appear in a film with Kimura Takuya (48) to commemorate the 70th anniversary of Toei in September.

UPDATE: Since the news report was released, her agency sent out the statement that she had a fever on August 20th and had a PCR test on August 21st but it was negative. She then took an antigen test on the 26th and it was positive and she is at home receiving treatment. She was admitted to a hospital in Tokyo because of symptoms of pneumonia and is heading for recovery.
