AKB48 veteran Yokoyama Yui announced at the “MX Natsu Matsuri AKB48 2021-nen Saigo no Summer Party” (MX Summer Festival AKB48 2021 Last Summer Party) at the Hibiya Open Air Concert Hall in Tokyo on the 12 that she is graduating from the group.
Yokoyama said, “I, Yokoyama Yui will graduate from AKB48. I’ve come to see my dreams more concretely, so I decided to take a step forward. I’m really grateful that I had a lot of irreplaceable and important experiences”.
Yokoyama’s graduation performance will be at AKB48 Theater on December 9th.
Yokoyama Yu became a 9th gen member back in September 2009 and was promoted to Team K in October 2010. Her first time participating in senbatsu was AKB48’s 21st single “Everyday, Katyusha” released back in 2011.
And she will be known as Takahashi Mina’s chosen AKB48 General Manager replacement and also when she was younger, the member who always had challenges getting onto the stage after being chosen for senbatsu and hyperventilated in front of a live audience.
