SPEED’s Shimabukuro Hiroko shares on Instagram how she broke her nose and why it’s still crooked to this day

Shimabukuro Hiroko of SPEED posted a photo of her nose on Instagram and talked about how she broke it when she was 18. Her nose can be seen it was slightly deviated to the left.

Hiroko wrote, “You can see this picture well. My nose is crooked. When I was 18, I was walking to a driving school and hit a telephone pole and broke it. It didn’t heal. I was not anesthetized. I didn’t get rid of it because of my profession and I didn’t like it. I have had it for 5, 10, 20 years. If you have this problem in your life, hit a telephone pole and it breaks your nose, please consider fixing it. One day, I will try to have my nose shaped, but I’m wondering if it’s too late. Hm….I want to read manga…”.

Others who broke their nose and also have a crooked nose, chimed in and showed their support but also some said they still live with pain as it didn’t heal correctly.  But if anything, many wrote encouragement that they can’t really tell.

In Japan, it’s often a topic of how people hit a telephone/utility pole because they are looking at their smartphones or not paying attention while walking.  A few have asked in the comments of what she was doing at the time and how she broke her nose on the telephone pole, but Shimabukuro Hiroko has not replied to those questions.
