Anjasshu’s Watabe Ken returns, comments on SNS are angry towards Watabe’s arm position

Watanabe Ken was one of the more popular faces on television years ago. One half of the comedy duo Anjasshu along with Kojima Kazuya, Watabe is a comedian who many admired, great career and also married model Sasaki Nozomi in 2017.

That was until a major scandal hit Watabe as Shukan Bunshun published an article alleging that Watabe had sexual encounters with various women in public restroom in Roppongi Hills and paid women 10,000 yen in cash for these encounters.

Watabe admitted to the article and apologized for his behavior and has not been seen since the summer of 2020.

On January 5th, Watabe made his return on the variety show “Shiro Kuru Anjasshu” on Chiba TV (and will be broadcasted on January 15th), his first entertainment appearance in 1 year and 7 months and immediately social media went on fire towards Watabe.

According to sources who told Sponichi Annex, Watabe consulted with his agency at the end of last year saying he wante dto resume work and was given the go ahead to do so.

Comments on SNS were as follows:

Why is Watabe standing with his arms behind him and Kojima in front?

Why does Kojima look more tired than Watabe?

It is polite to fold your arms in front of you in public. If you put it behind you, you will look intimidating. It is Japanese etiquette to fold your arms forward to make yourself look smaller. NHK announcers, weather forecasters all do so. Please tell Kojima-san and Watabe-san.

Does he know what it means to put his arms behind him? I think that this photo was inadequately released.
