Nakagawa Katsuhiko was a popular Japanese actor and music artist. First starring in the 1986 film adaptation of “Toki o Kakeru Shojo”, the lead character in “Superpowered Robo Garat” and released 10 singles and nine albums.

He was considered a visual kei artist of the ’80s and was known for his glamorous look.

But in 1992, Nakagawa was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia. He fought hard against the disease and made a comeback nine months later, but in August 1994, the leukemia returned and he would pass away on September 17th at the age of 32.

His daughter Nakagawa Shoko was appointed to a CM campaign for the Japan Bone Bank Support Campaign in July 2018, 24 years after Katsuhiko’s death, and in the CM, Shoko talked about how she was 9 years old when her father passed away.

In a tweet on July 20th, Shoko wrote that her father would be 60 years old that day if he was alive. And how she was nine years old when he passed away. But she inherited her father’s blood and his passion for singing, acting, being a voice actor and paintings. He is looking after her from up above.

Nakagawa Shoko also is featured in gravure on the cover of “Gekkan Young Magazine”.
