1994, it was the beginning of the TK Family.

With the success of the group TRF, producer, musician and songwriter Komuro Tetsuya began working with various talents and groups who would become part of his umbrella known as the TK Family. Which would include Uchida Yuki, Mizuki Arisa, hitomi, Kahala Tomomi, globe, to name a few.

But the star talent that would help provide the spark was former Tokyo Performance Dolls idol, Shinohara Ryoko.

Shinohara would have a wonderful solo career and even moreso now as an actress, but back in 1994, her hit song “koishisato setsunasato kokorozuyosato” was an enormous hit selling over 2 million copies and earning Shinohara a performance spot for NHK’s New Year’s Eve annual special, “Kouhaku Uta Gassen”.

Featured on the “Street Fighter II” animated film, both Shinohara Ryoko (49) and Komuro Tetsuya (63) have returned for a new version of the song titled “”koishisato setsunasato kokorozuyosato 2023”.

This time the song being reborn as lost in sadness abut finding hope in 2023.

Shinohara said, “I hope people who have listened to the original will listen to it with a new feeling.”

Shinohara also said, “If Komuro-san didn’t give me this song, she might not have done this job.”

This new cover was requested by CAPCOM, in which the “Street Fighter” video game series is turning 35-years-old this year. The song will be the image song for “Street Fighter 6” to be released next year.

Komuro Tetsuya said, “I hope you will listen to the lyrics of the new song sung by Ryoko-chan”.
