Imaizumi Yui is quitting her job due to voyeurism and stalking

Former Keyazaka46 (now known as Sakurazaka46) member Imaizumi Yui (24) posted on her blog that she can’t stand the voyeurism and stalking and wrote, “I have decided to quit my job”.

Imaizumi wrote. “This will be the last time I’m sending this out, so please let me spell out my honest feelings. Last year, I was able to return to work thanks to the cooperation of many people. I wanted to do my best again from here with people who are like this. I was annoyed by the fact that articles in weekly magazines cut out only a part of my life and wrote it as if it was the whole thing, and things that weren’t true continued to spread. A car that seems to be a weekly magazine has been following me for a few months. They were often parked in front of my house or followed me by car or on foot, and every day I couldn’t relax and it was stressful.”

In April of this year, she explained, “I was diagnosed with a mild squamous intraepithelial lesion in the previous stage of cervical cancer, and I regularly went to the obstetrics and gynecology department.” Even there, the man repeatedly checked the inside of the hospital near the entrance, waiting for him and even following me to my house.

Regarding the photos of her children, Imaizumi said, “I don’t understand that there is no problem with posting pictures of children as long as they are mosaic. I thought that I had to endure this kind of thing as long as I was doing a job that stood out, but when I thought that these days would continue, I couldn’t endure it physically and mentally. I decided to quit my job because I thought that I couldn’t be in this world in order to protect my children and not get my family involved any more. I apologized to those who have been indebted to me and those who have supported me, saying, ‘I am very sorry that I have to quit in this way’. Originally, we were planning to announce it a little later, but today, as usual, there were reporters’ ambushes and stalking behavior, and I couldn’t bear it anymore mentally. However, the pain of living has become stronger.”

She also revealed that she consulted with the police, but was told, “I can’t do anything because that is a job of a reporter”. At the end, she called out again, “I won’t be working as Imaizumi Yui in the future, so please stop writing articles and chasing me. As a woman, as a human being, from now on, I want to walk a peaceful and happy path. Thank you very much for everything”.

Imaizumi is married to controversial, former YouTuber Watanabe Mahoto and has a child with him.
