After defeating the Demon King, former hero Leo Demonheart is learning that he was just a little too good at what he did, to the point that many now suspect that his real goal was to become the Demon King himself. Which, given that his name is Demonheart and he was created as part of a secret project, is perhaps not as far-fetched as it sounds, but now nobody wants to employ him, and a former hero has still got to eat. So, he applies for a job with the Demon King Echidna herself… but she doesn’t want him either. Fortunately, some of her subordinates are more appreciative of his skills, and if he wears a disguise, he might just get away with becoming the new bad boy on the block!

From the Japanese fantasy light novel “Yusha, Yamemasu: Tsugi no Shokuba wa Maojo” by Quantum and Amano Hana comes the anime adaptation featuring 12 episodes.

The Japanese light novel was three volumes and so, what we have is a 12 episode series with two OVA’s.

Broadcast in April-June 2022, the anime series will receive a Blu-ray release courtesy of Sentai Filmworks.

The series revolves around Leo Demonheart, a hero who literally has acquired so many skills that he singlehandedly defeated the demons and monsters.

But one day, Leo Demonheart enters the castle of the Demon King Echidna and offers himself to work with the demons and defeat humankind.

But with Demon King Echidna, the succubus Steina, the demi-beast Lili, the human/demon hybrid Meines and the dragon warrior Edwald having lost against Leo Demonheart pretty badly, they are all skeptical of why this human warrior who single handed defeated them would want to join them.

But Leo Demonheart tells them that he will help them and immediately he observes why the Demon King is having a hard time maintaining a castle and army and lends his assistance.

But there is a true reason why Leo Demonheart is wanting to join the Demon King Echidna’s team.  But what is the true reason?

For the most part, this is a short animated series and at first, it was like watching an animated business video on teamwork and strategies for team building.  But as the series progresses, you start to realize there is something deep going on and we receive the truth about Leo Demonheart’s true intentions and what he truly is.

Included on the Blu-ray release are two OVA’s about the group taking a break and getting some rest and relaxation by visiting a haunted inn..

For the most part, the animated film looks vibrant in HD and the animated soundtrack is both well-acted for both the Japanese and English dub soundtracks.

If you are a busy anime fan and want an anime series that is short and action-packed, but also has its fair share of humor and drama, definitely give “I’m Quitting Heroing” a chance!
