MNNF RCRDS cancels recording contract with OdAkEi

The official website of the record company “MNNF RCRDS” was updated on the 27th, and announced that the contract of former popular YouTuber and affiliated artist OdAkEi (Oda Keisuke = 22) was canceled.

Oda is active as a popular YouTuber group “Miki Oda” with Mikki. Although they have become a popular combination that has gained tremendous support from young people, they announced in July last year that they would be going on an indefinite hiatus.

Oda, who was working as an individual artist as “OdAkEi”, had a big hit with “PSYCHO” released in September last year, which was selected as one of TikTok’s song trends and recommendations.

However, on this day, the agency announced, “Although it is sudden, we would like to inform you that the contract with our artist OdAkEi has been terminated. OdAkEi and I have shared many joys and sorrows since the beginning of MNNF, and we have been moving forward together towards the big goal of ‘flying in the world’, which has been a dream since we met. The first live MNNF FES hosted by the company was also successful, and we vowed to make further progress, but from around the end of December 2022, suddenly, serious problematic behavior involving a breach of contractual obligations occurred. We have decided to cancel the contract without continuing it”.

The statement continues, “Originally, the new song ‘Playing for keeps’ was to be released at the end of January 2023. We had completed the best music video that many creators put their heart and soul into. In addition, regarding the North American promotion that was scheduled to start in earnest from this year, it will continue for a long time. After negotiations, we had completed a contract with a major PR company in the U.S. with the cooperation of countless people, we have made thorough preparations for the release of our new song. We had to judge that it would be difficult to release a new song without being able to cooperate with the artist himself, so we had no choice but to stop the release of the new song. This series of problematic behaviors by OdAkEi has made the efforts of many people who have cooperated with us to realize our dreams did not come to fruition. Also, as one of the creators of music, I thought that this was an unforgivable act, so I had no choice but to cancel the contract. Thank you very much to all the fans who supported the artist OdAkEi.
