A producer of a company that manages idol groups was arrested by the Metropolitan Police Department for indecent acts to a member of the group he was in charge of.

Hoshino Yuji (37), a producer of a talent management company living in Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, was arrested.

According to the Metropolitan Police Department, the producer knew that an 18-year-old woman who was a member of the group he was in charge of, was under the age of 18 at the time and is suspected of violating the Child Welfare Law for committing obscene acts.

About three years ago, when she was in her third year of junior high school, the woman had been living alone in an apartment in Tokyo arranged by a producer.

The woman said that she had been subjected to obscene acts about 200 times in the four years until October last year, and the Metropolitan Police Department is investigating the details.

According to the idol, Hoshino told her, “If you don’t listen to what I say, you won’t have a place in the group”.  The girl consulted with the Metropolitan Police Department at Manseibashi Police Station in November 2022.

The producer has partially reserved his rights to an attorney.
