Due to government policy, the wearing of masks has been relaxed since the 13th of this month, making it “basic at the discretion of the individual”, but many live event organizers are asking for masks to be worn at concert venues.

Nogizaka46 announced on the group’s official website on the 13th that masks will be worn at live venues.

“From March 13th, wearing a mask is based on individual judgment, but in the ‘Guidelines for Nogizaka46’s concerts’, it is mandatory to wear a mask in the venue, and we have decided to allow cheering. We will continue to do so as a rule,” and asked for understanding, “Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.”

Johnny’s Jimusho also revised the concert guidelines on the 13th. “You are allowed to cheer while wearing a non-woven mask,” he explained again, “When cheering,or singing, please wear a non-woven mask”.

Regarding music concerts, the Japan Music Enterprises Association announced on the 9th of the 6th revision of the “Guidelines for preventing novel coronavirus infections at music concerts”.

While showing the standards of the rules that will be applied from the 13th, “It is basically entrusted to the judgment of each customer regarding the wearing of masks by customers”, but “However, at the discretion of the performance organizer, customers may be asked to wear masks. If requested (including requests to wear masks only when singing or cheering), we will inform customers of the details in advance (before the start of ticket sales, at the latest before the event).
