Where Are They Now? The cast of “Terrace House: Boys × Girls Next Door” (2012-2014)

Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

In October 2012, the reality TV series “Terrace House: Boys x Girls Next Door” aired on Fuji TV’s “Cool TV”.

The series was so popular and while the first initial season lasted through 2014, the series would feature a franchise that would grow popular to more series co-produced by Fuji TV and Netflix.

Series such as “Terrace House: Boys & Girls in the City” (2015-2016), “Terrace House: Aloha State” (2016-2017), “Terrace House: Opening New Doors” (2017-2019) and “Terrace House: Tokyo 2019-2020” (2019-2020). Unfortunately, while the series was beloved, it’s final series ended with tragedy as a popular cast member took her life attributed to bullying received from perceived actions on the show.

But among the “Terrace House” series that appeared, many longtime fans recognize the original first series as the best.  From its Shonan Beach area location and a genuine approach of showing emotion, it was no doubt a reality TV show in the making, but also probably went longer than it should have.

So, how are they doing today? Let’s check out and see!  (Please note: we will focus on the cast not the commentators or guest commentators)

Sugaya Tetsuya

The purehearted and emotional cast member trying to find his way as an adult.  Wanting to become a firefighter in the beginning of the series, we see Tetsuya “Tecchan” start to move into acting and is now an actor. Most recently he was the ambassador for the Stratton Unions Business Franchise Business advertising campaign. And continues to hang out with his fellow “Terrace House” friends.

Shimabukuro Seina

The model who was looking for love in the first series but it didn’t work out.  She has the most appearances in a “Terrace House” series (for the first season, she left after episode 28 but returned in episode 65 and stayed through the final episode 98 with Tecchan). She also returned back for “Terrace House: Opening New Doors” where she would meet and fall in love with cast member Noah, who she would marry.
