On the 27th, EXILE ATSUSHI shared on his official distribution channel and Instagram Live the details of what happened after he suffered from carbon monoxide poisoning in March of this year, and also revealed that he has “Lyme disease”.

EXILE ATSUSHI explained that in March of this year, he reported what happened after he contracted carbon monoxide poisoning. For more than two months, he had been suffering from severe headaches, dizziness, and nausea, and he was told that Meniere’s disease had been induced.

“I felt like I was at rock bottom and had no energy for two weeks. I liked natural remedies, but I was prescribed steroids, and by the time I was 50, I had zero energy. Somehow I was able to get it back”, but says that he searched for various tests and treatments. He underwent multiple tests at a clinic, and the results revealed that he had Helicobacter pylori and Lyme disease.

“Lyme disease” is a disease transmitted by bacteria that is latent in ticks, etc. According to the official website of the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare, “Lyme disease” is a disease that occurs after a period of 3 to 32 days without symptoms, followed by a red rash, fatigue, and headache. Symptoms include joint pain, muscle pain, and difficulty moving the neck. As it worsens, brain and heart damage may occur, and death may occur. Even if it recovers, skin and other symptoms may persist for a week to several years. After effects may remain in the joints”.

EXILE ATSUSHI talked about his doctor’s assumption that his immune system had weakened due to his hard work on live tours and productions, and that his symptoms were caused by bacteria that were latent in his body. But when it comes to Lyme disease, he said, “I’m thinking of doing my best. If I make a half-hearted comeback and it doesn’t work out, I’d be sorry to the fans, the members, and everyone at the company. I’m going to relax and do what I can now. When I really make a comeback, I want to do my best so that everyone can say, ‘ATSUSHI is here!’, And I’m even more powerful! I want to live my life positively and not waste time”.
