On the 6th, NHK announced the hosts for the 74th Kohaku Uta Gassen on New Year’s Eve. Comedian Ariyoshi Hiroyuki (49), actress Hashimoto Kanna (24), actress Hamabe Minami (23) and TV announcer Takase Kozo (47) will serve as the cast members.

Ariyoshi said, “I will be hosting the 74th NHK Kouhaku Uta Gassen. I saw Uchimura Mitsuyoshi, whom I respect the most, used to be the host of Kohaku, and I knew that someday I would like to be a part of the NHK Kohaku Uta Gassen. I can’t believe it because my goal was to become like him. Last year, I had the opportunity to sing on Kohaku, and I thought it was a great program to be a part of. So, I was thinking that I would like to be a part of it one more time, and then I was asked to be the host and I’m very honored and happy”.

Hashimoto Kanna said, “On this day, which marks the end of the year, we will bring you wonderful artists, songs, and performances together with Ariyoshi Hiroyuki and Hamabe Minami, and hope that everyone will have a bright and happy New Year. I would like to take on the important role of emceeing this national event, the Kohaku Uta Gassen, with a fresh feeling and hope that it will be well receive”.
