KANA-BOON drummer Koizumi Takahiro and guitarist Koga Hayato leave the band

On the 8th, rock band KANA-BOON announced on their official website that Koizumi Takahiro (drums) and Koga Hayato (guitar) will be leaving the band. Their contracts with Hipland Music Corporation will also be terminated. Due to this, the band announced, “We will suspend all activities for the remainder of the year”.

It was reported that poor behavior of Koga in his private life has led to him leaving the band, while Koizumi has been featured on tabloids of having an idol who was pregnant of getting an abortion in her 20s.  Hipland Music Corporation decided they could not continue on with the two members.

Koizumi said, “I would like to sincerely apologize for causing so much inconvenience and worry to so many people due to my careless actions. My actions were the result of my own immaturity and naivety, and I would like to apologize from the bottom of my heart for the inconvenience and worry that I caused to many people due to my careless actions. I have betrayed many people who have supported me since then, and I deeply regret it.I feel the magnitude of the problem I have caused this time, so I have requested to withdraw from KANA-BOON. I am truly sorry”.

Koga said, “We are truly sorry that things have turned out like this. We sincerely apologize for making our fans who have always supported us sad. I feel truly sorry for all the people involved in KANA-BOON. I am truly sorry”.

The band released the statement, “Once again, we would like to apologize for the great inconvenience caused to the customers who were planning to come to each performance of the national tour, everyone who was looking forward to KANA-BOON’s stage at the event, and everyone involved. I am truly sorry for what has happened. We will continue to discuss our activities from next year onward so that KANA-BOON can carry out activities in a way that will not embarrass our fans. It will take some time, but we would like to inform you once again”.
