Momoiro Clover Z’s Takagi Reni (30) announced on the 14th that she has divorced. One year and one month has passed since she suddenly announced her marriage to catcher Usami Shingo (30) of the professional baseball team Chunichi Dragons (at the time he was a member of the Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Fighters).

Takagi wrote on her website, “This is a personal matter, but I would like to inform you that I have divorced Usami Shingo. I was very happy to have met you. I am filled with gratitude to everyone who watched over me warmly. I hope that we can both lead a better life”.

Usami also posted on SNS, “To everyone involved, and to all the fans who support me. I am very sorry to announce this is a personal matter, but I have decided to divorce Takagi Reni after thorough discussions”.

The two met in 2019. They both have blood type O and were born in the same grade in June, so they have a lot in common, and at the time of their marriage announcement, Takagi said, “We’re on the same wavelength, so much so that I thought we might have been twins in a previous life”, so they started dating.

They had a long-distance relationship that was split between Kanto and Hokkaido, but Usami proposed to her during the off-season of the 2022 season, and they reached a goal. Four hours after announcing their marriage on a live broadcast, the couple visited Daily Sports and dutifully held a “two-shot press conference,” which was an unusual move that gained a lot of media attention.
