VTuber Yozora Mel’s contract with Hololive Productions has been canceled

The climate among the VTuber space is competitive and just like in real life for any artist or celebrity, breaking the rules can lead to contract cancellations.

And for VTuber Yozora Mel, her contract was canceled.

Cover Corp., which operates the VTuber agency Hololive Productions, announced on January 16 that they have canceled the contract of its VTuber, Yozora Mel. Because she confirmed her interactions with Cover which was a breach of contract by leaking confidential information to a third party.

The company explained, “We determined that it would be difficult for the company to continue to provide management and support, and we made this decision after agreeing with the talent in question. Yozora Mel’s YouTube channel and membership will be closed at the end of February. We are disappointed in Yozora Mel, which has been active for many years, but we would like to sincerely apologize for having to make this announcement”.

In response to this incident, Cover said it will work to provide compliance guidance to its talent and ensure thorough information management to prevent recurrence.

Yozora Mel has been around for nearly six years and the VTuber posted her final YouTube video two days ago.
