Esper Ito’s cause of death was announced

Former comedian Esper Ito (real name: Ito Masuo ), who was found to have passed away on the 16th, had status epilepticus as his cause of death, his agency announced on the 19th.

According to John Hopkins Medicine, “If you have epilepsy, you may have seizures repeatedly. A seizure that lasts longer than 5 minutes, or having more than 1 seizure within a 5 minutes period, without returning to a normal level of consciousness between episodes is called status epilepticus”.

The agency said, “Esper Ito has been receiving rehabilitation treatment at a facility for a long time and has been in and out of the hospital repeatedly. However, on Tuesday, January 16, 2020, he passed away at a medical institution due to status epilepticus (age 64). We would like to express our sincere gratitude to everyone for your continued support. We would like to express our gratitude”.

Esper has been absent from work since January 2019 due to “right osteoarthritis”. He subsequently suffered multiple cerebral infarctions and was hospitalized for rehabilitation. Since his income had been cut off, he received welfare.
