Pocketpair’s “Palworld” is no doubt the hottest game to be released with 8 million games sold in less than six days.

Even hardcore Pokemon fans said they enjoyed the game, but felt uneasy because the characters look like Pokemon characters.

But hardcore Pokemon fans are upset that “Palworld” infringes on the copyright of Pokemon Company and how the “Palworld” characters look very close to Pokemon characters.

Pocketpair chief executive Mizobe Takuro even said that his team was receiving slanderous comments and death threats.

Nintendo said they are aware of “Palworld” and the Pokemon Company will refrain from responding to individual cases.

The Pokemon Company has now issued the following statement:

We have received many inquiries regarding another company’s game released in January 2024. We have not granted any permission for the use of Pokémon intellectual property or assets in that game. We intend to investigate and take appropriate measures to address any acts that infringe on intellectual property rights related to the Pokémon. We will continue to cherish and nurture each and every Pokémon and its world, and work to bring the world together through Pokémon in the future.
