The opening of the musical “JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Phantom Blood” (Tokyo, Imperial Theater) was suddenly postponed on the 4th of this month, two days before the opening day, but on the 8th it was announced that the cancellation of three more performances would be extended.

Toho announced on its official website, “As previously announced, the musical “JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure Phantom Blood” will be debut on Tuesday, February 6th. to the 8th (Thursday) has been canceled. Since then, all of us have been working diligently on stage rehearsals in preparation for the performance to begin on February 10th, but we have had to make this very difficult decision as we have needed additional time to prepare while working to ensure the safety of the staff and cast. However, we have also canceled the three performances on February 10th (Saturday) and February 11th (Sunday), and will resume performances from February 12th (Monday, public holiday)”.

“We sincerely apologize for the cancellation period to our customers who have been looking forward to seeing the play, and we also sincerely apologize for not informing them so close to the theater date. Our company takes seriously the situation in which we have caused a great deal of inconvenience to our customers due to the poor outlook for the production of this performance and the inadequacy of the production system, and we will take measures to prevent such a situation from happening again. We are determined to take thorough measures against this”.

A total of seven performances will be suspended. For canceled shows, in addition to the ticket price, the company will also cover ticket sales fees, system usage fees, transportation and accommodation costs, or if cancellation is not possible, transportation costs and one night’s accommodation per performance date, a decision which the company will bear the burden. They are also considering making the performance available for viewing for free.
