“Godzilla Minus One” and Miyazaki’s “The Boy and the Heron” have won an Academy Award

BREAKING NEWS: “Godzilla Minus One”, a film commemorating the 70th anniversary of Godzilla’s birth (directed by Takashi Yamazaki) became the first Japanese film to win Best Visual Effects at the Academy Awards.

Director Miyazaki Hayao’s first new feature film in 10 years, “The Boy and the Heron” won an Academy Award for Best Animated Feature Film. This is Miyazaki’second time in 21 years, after 2003’s “Spirited Away”.
