Former SKE48 member Oba Mina announces pregnancy with first child

On the 27th, Oba Mina, former member of SKE48 and wife of pitcher Ishikawa Shuta, who recently transferred to professional baseball team Lotte as a free agent, updated her YouTube channel and announced that she is pregnant with their first child.

Oba uploaded a video titled “Announcement: We have been blessed with our first child”.

Oba said in the video, “I have something to announce to everyone today. I have been blessed with my first child. I am currently in the stable period of pregnancy and my health is stable. I haven’t had a chance to tell my fans or the people who have helped me at work directly, so I decided to make this video. Actually, I’ve been trying to get pregnant for about a year, and after undergoing fertility treatment, I was able to get pregnant this time. So for the past year or so, I’ve been taking a break from work, So for the past year or so, I think some of my fans have wondered, ‘What is Oba Mina doing?’ But there were circumstances. I thought that this kind of thing is not something I can easily report, so I’m reporting it in this video at this timing. If my health had been stable during the early stages of pregnancy, I would have been able to do various jobs, but the early stages of pregnancy were a bit unstable. Some people may have thought that there was no movement at all, but actually I’ve been at home for about three months. I haven’t seen anyone other than my husband. I had nothing to share. I thought that one day I would be able to report it in good health, so I spent that much time believing in everyone. My health is stable now. Pregnancy is a matter of timing, and it’s not something you can do at any time. There is an age limit now. That’s reality, isn’t it?
