Nippon Broadcasting System announced on the 21st that it will end “Masahiro Nakai ON & ON AIR” (every Saturday at 11:00 pm), hosted by the talent Nakai Masahiro (52), whose troubles with a woman have been reported in some weekly magazines. The announcement was made on the official website.

The official website posted a document titled “About Nakai Masahiro ON & ON AIR”, reporting, “Nippon Broadcasting System has suspended the broadcast of “Nakai Masahiro ON & ON AIR” since January 11th, but after comprehensively assessing the current situation, we have decided to end the program”.

It also revealed, “Nakai Masahiro himself has requested that he withdraw from the program”.

The program is a long-running program that began on July 1, 1995 as its predecessor, “Nakai Masahiro’s Some girl’ SMAP,” and was soon to celebrate its 30th anniversary. On December 31, 2016, just before SMAP’s disbandment, Nakai appeared on the radio for the last time as a member of “SMAP,” and at the end of the show he screamed out, “Shingo! Tsuyoshi! Goro! Kimura! SMAP! See you later! Bye-bye!”

Nakai appeared on the January 4th broadcast of this year, but the show was suspended from the 11th. At the end of last year, some weekly magazines reported that Nakai had had trouble with a woman and had resolved the matter with a large settlement.
