ET-KING leader/vocalist Itokin has passed away

ET-KING leader/vocalist Itokin passed away on January 31st at a hospital in Osaka due to stage 4 cancer (pericardial mesothelioma).

It was posted by ET-KING’s management on their official website on February 1st.

Itokin found out he had cancer during a regular check-up last June and it was diagnosed in July.  He announced his illness to the public in August and took a hiatus from any live activities.

While receiving home care since last fall, he participated in the recording of their new song “Kochi Koi” released back in November and a new album is scheduled for release this February. When he was feeling a little better, he would come to the studio in Osaka and pick up his favorite guitar and his passion for music never slowed down.

According to officials, Itokin had continued taking medication but on January 19th, he started to have chest pains and was transported to the hospital where he was undergoing treatment.

His funeral will be held on Friday, February 4th at the funeral hall Yasuragi Tenku kan in Osaka.

For the fans of Itokin, a message book will be placed near the entrance of the venue and fans are encourage to come say their last farewell to Itokin.

ET-KING formed in Osaka back in 1999 and is the second tragedy for the group, MC TENN passed away back in 2014.

Itokin took part in a live appearance last December in front of 1,500 fans.
