Also announced that in commemoration of the 10th year anniversary of the general election, the number of people allowed to participate in the general election has been increased from 80 people to a 100 people.

Also announced was that Team 8’s Oguri Yui will be the center for AKB48’s 52nd single (title to be announced), which will be released on May 2018.

A tearful Oguri commented, “Because I was excited each time I was selected to participate, I never thought I would ever be chosen as a center at this time.  I am worried that I think that there are those who may feel I am still immature, but since I have been chosen, I would like to introduce more people to AKB’s attractiveness and I will do my best to work hard as the center”.
