New Kabuki campaigns to attract tourists are in full effect.
With Sanrio and KABUKI actors from Marchen Theater putting on a show titled “KAWAII KABUKI” at Sanrio’s Puroland theme park (in Tokyo) in March, SUPER KABUKI II feat. ONE PIECE (in Osaka) set for April and for two days in April, “Cho Kabuki” featuring Hatsune Miku and Nakamura Shido at the conference, niconico Cho Kaigi 2018 (in Chiba).
On March 10th “KAWAII KABUKI ~Momotaro by the Hello Kitty Troupe~” began at the Sanrio Puroland Theme Park and is a 40-minute Kabuki performance. The collaboration is between Sanrio characters and “KABUKI” from the Marchen Theater.

Starting in April 1st through the 25th will be the ONE PIECE (SUPER KABUKI II) at Osaka Shochikuza Theater. The first SUPER KABUKI was back in 2014 and featured “Sora o Koku musha”. This time collaborating with the very popular “ONE PIECE” series which was created by Oda Eiichiro and was serialized in “Weekly Shonen Jump” since July 1997. While the TV series has been ongoing since October 1999.
On April 28-29, “Cho Kabuki” featuring Hatsune Miku and Kabuki actor, Nakamura Shido will be performed at the niconico cho kaigi 2018 (niconico Super Conference 2018) at Makuhari Messe. And will utilize the evolving “Kirari!” technology.
