New TBS drama “Black Pean” is off to a great start debuting with a 13.7% rating for its first episode.
The drama starring Arashi’s Ninomiya Kazunari (34) aired on April 22nd and is based on the 1988 novel by Kaidou Takeru.
The title “Black Pean” is derived on the surgical instrument what is known as the arterial forceps or the pean named after its creator, Jules-Emile Pean, to control bleeding.
The drama stars Ninomiya as Tokai Seishiro who has the nickname of “Demon of the Operating Room”. Also starring is Takeuchi Ryoma as Sera Masashi; Aoi Wakana as Hanabusa Miwa; Hashimoto Satoshi as Kurosaki Seiichiro; Kanno Misuzu as Fujiwara Makoto and more.
The theme song is performed by Oda Kazumasa.
The second episode will air on April 29th.
