Mobile Suit Gundam is said to have changed Japan’s animation industry with its realistic style of portraying characters and incorporating world views. It was also said to be a monumental series for mecha robot animation. And since 1979, when the series first came onto the scene, Gundam continues to thrive 40-years later.
And with NHK BS Premium, a database covering over 56 anisongs, 56 animated films, more than 2,000 characters and mobile suits have been developed.
And NHK hosted an “Zen Gandamu dai tōhyō” (All-Gundam Major Votes) which allowed viewers to select and vote for different categories.
The results of the “All-Gundam Major Voting” was revealed on May 5, 2018 and for the category of “Top Gundam Songs”, Moriguchi Hiroko’s two Gundam theme songs were in the top 10 at #1 and #3.
“Mizu no Hoshi e Ai wo Komete” (1985) which is the second opening theme song for “Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam” was #1. While “ETERNAL WIND~Hohoemi wa hikaru kaze no naka” (1991), the ending theme for “Mobile Suit Gundam F91” came in at #3.

From 1979, the first Gundam was broadcasted. All 56 works up to the latest work.
From over 360 songs, it is amazing these songs were chosen!
I really can not believe it!
All the fans who voted, the fans who loved the music, thank you very much!

The songs are from 32-years ago and the other is from 27-years ago.
Because you cherish these songs, decades later, these songs have not faded away.
