In Japan, Ito Midori is considered a true ice skating legend. The former figure skater was the 1989 World Champion and the 1992 Olympic silver medalist and the first woman to land a triple-triple jump combination and a triple axel in competition. At the 1988 Calgary Olympics, Ito was the first woman to land seven triple jumps in a free skating competition.
And while Ito is now an ice skating instructor, there has been a desire to see her skate again.
Mura Takahito is a 2014 Four Continents Champion, 2014 Skate Canada International Champion, 2012 Trophee Eric Bompard champion and a five-time Japan Championships bronze medalist and 2008 Japan Junior champion.
And these two figure skaters will take part in the “[KanColle] Chinjufu Kori matsuri – Hikami no kankanshiki-” ice skating event.
“KanColle” or “Kantai Collection” is a popular free web browser game from Kadokawa Games launched back in 2013 and has developed into a large media franchise which led to a Playstation Vita game in 2016, an animated TV series in 2015 and an animated film in 2016.
The event will be held from July 14-15 at Makuhari Messe.
Fans are responding with excitement especially since the tickets range from 8800 yen to 10800 yen and giving figure skating fans a chance to see Ito and Mura skate.
