Former “Terrace House: Opening New Doors” cast members Okamoto Shion and Sato Tsubasa discuss their long-distance relationship with “Elle Japan”

Real-life couple Okamoto Shion and Sato Tsubasa, former cast members of “Terrace House: Opening New Doors” were recently interviewed by “Elle Japan”.

In the interview, the two discussed how thy wished they could have been in the “Terrace House” in Karuizawa during the summer.  During the winter, it was very cold and while the women’s bedroom had heated floors, not the men’s bedroom.

The two also discussed about living in a shared house, Okamoto said he lived in a shared house in Tokyo, so it was no problem.  But when she saw trash left behind by Arai Yuudai, he would become frustrated and stressed.

For Tsubasa, it was more of a challenge because she was training for ice hockey everyday, and when she came home tired and slept early, the members were up late drinking and were loud.

The two were also asked if they have seen Arai Yuudai since graduating from “Terrace House: Opening New Doors”.

Sato said she saw him at an awards show but he’s still the same Yuudai.  Shion said Yuudai is now trying to become a model, but he wishes him the best whether if he wants to become a model or chef.

The two were asked if they read social media during their time on the show?

Shion said that at first, he would try to respond to people on Instagram but because people were asking questions and didn’t want to reveal what was happening on the show, he stopped.  But he was up to receiving both positive and negative comments.

As for Tsubasa, she enjoyed the positive comments especially about hockey but did not like the negative comments about her.

The two also answered questions about Yamasato Ryota’s comments, the popularity of Tsubasa’s father on the show and the two also discussed having a long distance relationship.

Because there is no hockey at this time, but Tsubasa said she is able to see Shion in Tokyo once a week.  Shion jokes around that she has a lot of guy friends, so she goes to Tokyo to hang out with her friends and just sees him while she’s in Tokyo (laughing).  Tsubasa said, “it’s not true!” (laughing).

Tsubasa said she wants to play with the Karuizawa Fairies for another year but is considering moving to Tokyo.  Shion is still focused on modeling and wants to try out acting.   But he wants to challenge Milano and NY collection and also he has been busy working out (for our readers from overseas, “working out” is exercising or going to the gym in order to have a nice body).
