FANTASTICS/EXILE TRIBE member Nakao Shota has passed away

LDH announced that FANTASTICS and EXILE TRIBE member Nakao Shota has passed away at the age of 22-years-old at a hospital in Tokyo at 7:23 a.m. on July 6th.

Nakao who was part of EXILE GENERATIONS became a member of the FANTASTICS back on January 2017.  But on March 2018, Nakao had to suspend all entertainment activities because of his deteriorating health condition.

When he received a thorough examination, he was diagnosed with stomach cancer.

As he took a break from the group to focus on medical treatment, Nakao hoped to return to the group after a full recovery.

EXILE leader HIRO released a statement.

In an excerpt from his statement, HIRO wrote, “I think you already know from LDH Japan about the sad news.  This month on the sixth day, Nakao Shota took his last breath due to an illness.  It’s really painful, sad and frustrating.  In recent months, despite how much pain he was in, he would not give up, every day, he gave it his all.  He was battling his illness and it was amazing, because his spirit was strong, I admired him”.
