“Shiroi Kyoto” actress Ikuta Etsuko has passed away

Actress Ikuta Etsuko who appeared in the TV drama “Shiroi Kyoto” and the Fuji TV variety show “Kindon! Iiko Warui Futsu no Ko” passed away at the age of 71.

According to media reports, Ikuta fell down at her home on the morning of July 15th and was transported via emergency services to the hospital but was unable to be revived.  The cause of death is listed as Ischemic Heart Failure (Coronary Artery Disease).

Ikuta debuted back in 1963 as a model and joined Shochiku in 1966 and became active in films and dramas.

A funeral will be hold only by close relatives but a farewell party is being planned at a later date.
