Actress/Model/singer Nishiuchi Mariya makes her return

In Japan, leaving talent agencies are not always smooth.

And actress/model Nishiuchi Mariya, known for main role in dramas such as “Switch Girl!!!”, “Yamada-kun and the Seven Witches”, “Hotel Concierge” and Totsuzan Desu ga, Ashita Kekkon Shimasu”.

She also did the voice of Marin in “One Piece Film: Z” and was Cutie Honey in “Cutie Honey: Tears”.  She has also released seven music singles from 2014-2017.

But since March 2017, Nishiuchi has been silent and has not updated her Instagram and Twitter and her official blog was also closed.

On July 20th, Nishiuchi returned on Instagram and made her first social media post over a year later.  Nishiuchi wrote that her contract with her agency Rising Pro Holdings had ended on March 31, 2018.

お久しぶりです。私、西内まりやは、2018年3月31日をもって株式会社ライジングプロ・ホールディングスとの契約が満了となりました事をご報告致します。これまで育てて下さった事務所関係者の皆様、そして応援して下さる皆様に心から感謝しております。 突然更新や活動が止まってしまいご心配をおかけし、そしてご報告が遅くなってしまい本当に申し訳ありませんでした。 実は一度、表現する道を歩む事を諦めようと考えたのですが、何度も心と話し合い、もう一度チャレンジしたいと思いました。 一歩ずつ精進していこうと思っておりますので、今後とも応援よろしくお願い致します。 西内まりや

Nishiuchi wrote, “I am sincerely thankful to everyone involved in the agency that had nurtured me so far, and to everyone who has supported me.  I was worried about not updating since activities have ceased and my report was delayed.  I’m very sorry.  I once thought about giving up but I wanted to consider what was in my heart many times and decided that I want to challenge myself once again. I am thinking of stepping forward one step at a time, so thank you for your continued support”.
