Toei sends a strict warning for those who are stealing “Shin Evangelion Gekijō-ban :||” teaser

Toei announced on Tuesday that it will take strict measures for those who are stealing and uploading trailers of the animated film “”Shin Evangelion Gekijō-ban :||” shot at theaters.

Special feature images of “”Shin Evangelion Gekijō-ban :||” which will be released in 2020 have been screening for a limited time from July 20-August 31st at movie theaters nationwide.  A thief had taken a picture uploaded on the Internet.

Toei said, “the act of recording of movies (this includes trailers) in theaters is forbidden by law according to the movie theft and copyright law” and uploaded movies and specials that have been captured and uploaded to YouTube, Twitter and Facebook is copyright infringement”.

Even if anonymous, the upload source can be identified and Toho, Toei and other companies are discussing a joint distribution to respond to the copyright damage.
