Considered as one of the best Japanese dramas of all time, Fuji TV’s “Tokyo Love Story” (which originally aired back in January 1991), will be re-aired for the first time in 14 years since September 2004.

The drama received phenomenal ratings with an average of 22.9% and 32.9% for the series finale.

The drama revolves around Rika (portrayed by Suzuki Honami), who is a very bright but selfish girl. She falls for Nagao Kanji (portrayed by Oda Yuji) and he falls for her as well.

Because of how she is, they tend to have a lot of trouble with their romantic life. Rika wants Kanji to love her and Kanji also wants to love her but they are too different when it comes to personalities. Rika may seem too energetic but in fact she is always lonely.

This is a must see Japanese drama classic and made Suzuki Honami a household name in Japan. It was also a big hit in Asia among college kids and young adults.

The drama also stars Arimori Narimi, Eguchi Yosuke and Sendou Akiho.

“Tokyo Love Story” will air as part of Fuji TV’s “Media Mix a” from 15:50 p.m. to 16:50 p.m. and will begin on September 14th through the 28th.
