AKB48 Team A’s Miyazaki Miho received a special letter on her birthday from AKB48 Team B’s Takeuchi Miyu

On September 15th, Miyazaki Miho a.k.a. “Myao” celebrated her 25th birthday at AKB Theater.

During her birthday celebrations, AKB48 Manager Yokoyama Yui read a surprise letter, which turned out to be from AKB48 Team B’s Takeuchi Miyu.

In last week’s episode of AKB48 All Night Nippon, we learned that Miyazaki Miho and Takeuchi Miyu grew closer during the recording of “Produce48”.

And that Miyazaki Miho, which was expected, was a translator between the Japanese and Korean trainees.

While we didn’t know to what extent, we realized that during the taping of the episodes, there were many times there were no translators available.  So, Miyazaki did what she could, as a leader and AKB48 veteran.

Takeuchi Miyu wrote positive things that Miyazaki did for the AKB48G Japanese trainees during “Produce48” and even wrote, “You would take the role of group leader and take into consideration the feelings of the other girls who are younger than you”.

Takeuchi also wrote, “You never tried to grab other people’s attention, you thought about others and placed everybody else before you”.

Takeuchi also got defensive in the letter about wanting to oppose those who hated on Miyu despite not knowing anything about her and she also mentioned that she was on the edge of getting severely criticized online.

Miyazaki has also been criticized for loving Korean culture and for some Japanese that angers them.  But she has remained strong, as have Takeuchi.

Both AKB48 members, Takeuchi Miyu was never ranked high in the senbatsu sousenkyo and for Miyazaki, as AKB48 grew, while she debuted at #78 in the 6th and 8th general election, she has been unranked these last two years.

But the fact that they made it into the top 20 out of the 98 trainees, that is magnificent.  And they also gained an international following through “Produce48” and we can only wish both AKB48 members the best!
