My Little Lover is back with their seventh single “Animal Life”.

A catchy rock track with Akko’s catchy vocals and Fuji Kenji’s guitar, “ANIMAL LIFE” is more or less a song about a woman who is tired of a guy being selfish and that his manly ego is not going well with her.

She wants to be like animals and play even if it means for the night.  But if he continues to say “I wish we could be together forever”, she may change her mind.  Because it’s a lovely play, it’s always the best way.

The music video for “Animal Life”, from what I saw on television, features Akko and foreign models wearing a red wig and a blue rain coat and playing in a rock band.  Very interesting concept!

As for the coupling track, we get another My Little Lover T-Kobayashi track titled “Ame no Oto (Ne)” (Sound of Rain (Ne) featuring that experimental spacey background with beats.  It’s a style which I noticed T-KOB is experimenting with the band of late.  Especially having sound going from the left and right speaker, switching back and forth.  And he experiments with beats on the left and guitar on the right.   But it’s a cool dreamy song if you are open to My Little Lover’s experimental style of music.

And the third track is an instrumental version of “ANIMAL LIFE”.

Overall, another solid single from My Little Lover!  And “ANIMAL LIFE” is a song that I have had on replay in my CD player, that’s how much I love it!
