Nogizaka46’s Shiraishi Mai’s second solo photobook “Passport” continues to sell very well a year and nine months later

Nogizaka46’s Shiraishi Mai’s second solo photobook “Passport” was released on February 7, 2017 and the book has now has now surpassed 300,000 copies in circulation.

Back on May 17th, an additional 10,000 copies were reprinted, it’s 19th reprinting (which is unprecedented in Japan).

A Kodansha sales representative said, “It is the biggest selling hit for a photo collection in the history of Kodansha, since company’s founding 100-years ago. Exceeding 300,000 copies is a historical feat that has happened only once in 100 years!”.

Now after a year and nine months, Shiraishi’s photobook is still selling well with and having received 23 reprints.

The photobook is no doubt one of the most successful photobooks released in Japan and the records are continually updated.

A representative of the company is surprised that the momentum has not yet stopped, “Sales have not dropped even one year and nine months after its release, this is unprecedented and a rare situation”.
