People confused by the covers of the new “Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuutsu” bunko books

The light novels of Suzumiya Haruhi by Tanigawa Nagaru and illustrator Ito Noizi are well-known among fans.

With the first light novel released back in 2004, selling over 20 million copies and would lead to a popular manga and anime series, people noticed the release of the books on January 24th but with a different cover from Kadokawa Bunko without the recognizable character that many people are familiar with.

The first “Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuutsu” (The Melancholy of Suzumiya Haruhi) featuring a girl on the beach and “Suzumiya Haruhi no Tameiki” (The Sigh of Suzumiya Haruhi) with a girl holding an umbrella.

Amazon is listing the bunko as general literature and not as light novels.

But on social media, some commented:

Must be Haruhi of Kadokawa

I’ve been reborn as a complete literary work

It looks different but I want to read it again
