Back in 2009, Amano Sakuya created a manga series titled “Konohana-tei Kitan”, which was published in Ichijinsha’s yuri manga magazine “Comic Yuri Hime S” and would be relaunched in Gentosha’s seinen manga magazine “Comic Birz” in 2014.

A 12-episode anime series adaptation produced by Lerche would air in Japan in October-December 2017.

And the anime series would be released on Blu-ray/DVD courtesy of Funimation.

“Konohana Kitan” revolves around a young, naive fox girl named Yuzu who grew up with a nun but now will be living and working at Konohanatei, an inn halfway between Heaven and Earth.

At Konohanatei, she works alongside with the following employees:

  • Satsuki – A very serious fox girl about her work and hopes to become a miko someday. Often yelling at Yuzu but is actually fond of her.
  • Sakura – A tiny mysterious fox girl.  Very quiet.
  • Natsume – A tomboyish fox girl.  Playful and exuberant.
  • Ren – A feminine fox girl who always wants to be beautiful and perfectionist.  She is afraid of men after childhood trauma by being bullied by them.
  • Kiri – An older fox girl who is the boss of the employees.  Laidback but very smart.
  • Okiku – A cursed porcelain doll who ends up working at Konohanatei.
  • Okami – The owner of Konohanatei.

And at first, the other employees are not so accepting of Yuzu working at Konohanatei, but the more they work with her, they learn how much she brings to the inn but also how helpful and happy makes them.

For those wanting a cute anime series about a small fox girl who works at an inn between Heaven and Earth and how she eventually warms her co-workers up into accepting her.

Episodes involve Yuzu going out with Satsuki and going in town and Satsuki is shocked that Yuzu knows that she wants to become a priestess.

Another episode features why Ren is attracted to Natsume, a story about a strange egg that has attached itself to Ren, what happens when a guess brings a creepy living doll named Okiku, another episode featuring the young ladies taking part in a Bon Odori, what happens when Satsuki drinks a medicine that makes her shrink and more.
