Rinka announces that her “MAISON DE REEFUR” stores will be closing down

Rinka announced on her Instagram that her MAISON DE REEFUR stores will be closing.

“MAISON DE REEFUR” stores can be found in Daikanyama, Nagoya, Shinjuku, Ikebukuro, Yokohama and Hakata.  The Daikanyama and Nagoya stores also featured the Glouglou Reefur cafes.

Rinka wrote:

MAISON DE REEFUR is a store that operates throughout the year.  I am reporting that it was decided to close the store.  7 years ago, 2012.4.12, four months after my son was born, MAISON DE REEFUR, the first store in Daikanyama opened.  Even now I can still remember that day clearly.  We opened at 11:00, despite it being a rainy day, when the shop’s doors opened, a lot of people were waiting in line.  I felt the fear that no one wold come but despite the conflict I felt with parenting for the first time, I was relieved that I was properly able to open and that everyone was waiting warmly.  I still remember breaking down.

Day 1, 2,000 people.  In one week, there were 20,000 people.  I heard that 350,000 people visited REEFUR in one year.  I saw a girl walking with a REEFUR pink shopping bag in various cities.  That encounter of seeing people with clothes that we made, I will not forget the feeling of thankfulness. 

Rinka went on to explain it was the most difficult seven years to keep a big business ongoing.

Up to now, to many people who have supported me, I am really full of gratitude.  To those who loved the brand MAISON DE REEFUR, I’m really thankful to you.  Until the very last day, thank you.

皆様へご報告があります。 . . MAISON DE REEFURは年内をもちまして全店舗、 閉店させて頂くこととなりました事をご報告させて頂きます。 7年前、2012.4.12 息子が誕生した4ヶ月後に MAISON DE REEFUR 代官山第1号店がOPENしました。 その当日の事は 今でも鮮明に覚えています。 OPEN時間11時 お店の扉をあけると そこには雨の日にもかかわらず、 本当に沢山の方が並んで待っていてくれました。 その当時、誰も来てくれなかったらという不安と、 初めての子育てとの葛藤の中で、ちゃんとOPENできたという安堵、皆様があたたかく待っていてくださったことが本当に凄く嬉しくて、 泣き崩れた事を今でも覚えています。 1日目2000人1週間で2万人 1年間で35万人もの方が REEFURに訪れてくれたと聞いています。 色々な街でREEFURのピンクのショッピングバッグを持って歩いている女の子を見かけました。想いをこめてつくったお洋服で歩く子達と遭遇した時のあの感動、 ありがとうの気持ちは忘れません 。 目まぐるしく過ぎていく今の時代 私自身 思考や求めるもの 大切にしたいことが、 だんだん変わっていく中で 心を保ちながら 私の力不足も含めて この大きなビジネスを保つことが、 とても難しいと感じるようになりました。 もがきあがきながら 至らない事だらけの私でしたが、 精一杯かけぬけた7年間でした。 これから残りの人生を どう生きていきたいかを考えるようになった時、 ここで一度立ち止まり、 この先をもう少しゆっくりと歩んでいきたいと思うようになりました。 これまで、 支えてくださった沢山の方々には 本当に感謝の気持ちでいっぱいです。 これまでMAISON DE REEFURという ブランドを愛してくださった皆様 本当にありがとうございました。 最後の日まで MAISON DE REEFURをよろしくお願い致します。 梨花
