Akanishi Jin’s “But I Miss You” single jacket will feature an image from his MRI

Akanishi Jin revealed on his Instagram that his single “But I Miss You” will feature an image of his MRI for its cover jacket.  While some wonder if it was Akanishi joking, a few media outlets have reported that the special single will be sold at the alternative performance.

Back on March 4th, Akanishi’s management revealed on his official website that Akanishi complained about lower back pain and went to the hospital where he was diagnosed with transformative lumbar spondylosis.

According to emedicinehealth:

Spondylosis changes in the spine are frequently referred to as osteoarthritis. For example, the phrase “spondylosis of the lumbar spine” means degenerative changes such as osteoarthritis of the vertebral joints and degenerating intervertebral discs (degenerative disc disease) in the low back.

While Akanishi using the MRI image for the jacket showcases his humor, a lot of his fans are concerned because of the seriousness of his diagnosis as seen on his Instagram comments.

“JIN AKANISHI THANK YOU TOUR 2019” which was to kick off on April 6th has changed. Akanishi, management/staff and his doctor felt it was difficult for Akanishi to perform perfectly.  But the priority right now is Akanishi’s health and so the decision was to change the contents of his performance, but no change to the schedule.

What will be screened as an alternative to the live performance is “JIN AKANISHI 5th Anniversary Our Years Film”, a documentary featuring Akanishi’s five years being independent  (approx. 150 minutes).  Those who attend will get a gift ticket of 4,000 yen which can be used to purchase goods at the product sales floor.  Also, a Maxi Single CD + a metal key chain and die-cut sticker of Jin x gudetama.

Akanishi’s live Blu-ray and DVD “JIN AKANISHI JINDEPENDENCE TOUR 2018” was released on March 13th.
