Okamura Takako announced that she has acute leukemia, upcoming concert performances are canceled

Staff of Okamura Takako (57) announced on her official website that she was diagnosed with “acute leukemia”.

Due to the diagnosis, she has to cancel upcoming concerts and she has to enter long-term medical treatment.

The following concert tour “T’s GARDEN” 4 performances that were announced will be canceled.

June 15, 2019 – Hall of Matsudo Mori, Chiba Prefecture
June 22, 2019 – Hiroshima Prefecture, Higashihiroshima Art Culture Hall Kurara Large Hall (Sunday
June 30, 2019 –  Saitama Prefecture, Kawaguchi General Culture Center Lilia Main Hall
July 14, 2019 – Hyogo Prefecture, Kobe Portopia Hall

The site will inform those who purchased tickets on how to get a refund on tickets they purchased at a later time, but they request to please keep tickets in hand for now.

Her new album “Fierte” (her first original album to be released for the first time in six years) which was planned for release on May 22nd, will continue to be released.

Staff said Okamura Takako will be return in front of everyone with a healthy appearance, so please continue to support her.

Okamura Takako made her debut in 1982 as part of the folk duo Aming and their single “Matsu-wa” became a big hit.  The duo disbanded in 1984 and Okamura embarked on a solo career in 1985 and since then, has released 15 original albums and 30 singles.
