On June 12, it was reported by various media that Takeshi Kitano a.k.a. Beat Takeshi (72) and wife, Mikiko (68) have divorced.
Married since 1983, nearly 40 years, it is a surprise because many remember when Kitano was severely injured in a motorcycle accident in 1994 and his wife Mikiko was by his side, nursing him in ICU.
But in recent years, rumors were that they have been living separately and barely meeting with each other.
The two have one daughter, singer/actress Kitano Shoko.
